Coronavirus Update (3 May)
As the situation changes, we are monitoring things carefully, and making adjustments to our way of working to ensure we comply with all the latest advice from Government and health authorities and that we contribute to the community's efforts to deal with the effects of Coronavirus. We aim to carry out all the necessary actions to safeguard our employees, customers and suppliers.
We have the advantage, as a small family business, that our office and workshop facilities are all home based. This means that we are able to do all our work without anyone needing to travel to or from work. However, the additional precautions we are taking have meant we are a little slower at getting some orders manufactured and despatched.
Our carriers continue to operate and collect orders from us for delivery to our customers. They are doing a great job handling more deliveries than normal, and have all bought in new procedures to minimise any risks when collecting and delivering orders. This means that we are able to continue without any visitors entering or leaving our premises. However, some of our orders are taking a bit longer than normal to be delivered, and we ask our customers for their understanding in these difficult times.
We are of course dependent on our suppliers to provide the materials and services we need to enable us to continue manufacturing our boxes etc. To date, almost all of them are able to continue operating although the current situation is developing day by day. As a precaution against any disruption we have built up our stocks of materials etc. Some of our suppliers are now running with reduced output or have temporarily closed due to the epidemic. Dealing with these issues is causing us some challenges, but we have so far been able to resolve almost all of them. We are very grateful to all our suppliers, many of whom have given us additional support during these difficult times.
Currently we are experiencing delays with supplies of timber for the Apex Bird Box and Apex Robin Box. This in turn is causing delays of about 2 to 3 weeks in manufacture and delivery of these boxes.
We would like to extend our thanks to all our customers for their continued support and patience in these difficult circumstances. We will continue to do everything we can to deliver all orders as promptly and as safely as we can, but do realise that some delays in getting our products to you may be inevitable.
