New bat boxes launched at the Bat Conservation Trust annual conference.

We're just back from the annual BCT (Bat Conservation Trust) conference held this year in a slightly damp York. As always we find it a great chance to chat to many of our customers and catch up with whats been happening in the bat world in the last year. There were many fascinating and interesting talks but we think the most intriguing has to be Dr Christian Voigt describing taking breath samples from nathusius pipistrelle bats to find out if they were feeding whilst they were migrating!
We were also pleased to take along to the conference four products we've just launched. This included our all new Integrated Eco Bat Box (designed to be built into walls) and our Eco Bat Box (which mounts onto a wall or tree etc). These two boxes have a recycled plastic weatherproof outer shell protecting a wooden internal roost chamber. Other new products featured on our stand were the Pole Mounted Bat Boxes and the Large Colony Bat Box. The Large Colony Bat Box is the biggest box we make and particularly suited to maternity colonies of common and soprano pipistrelle bats with room for several hundred bats. We'll be blogging in a bit more detail about these new products but in the meantime if your interested in any of these boxes please check out their listings on the website or get in touch if you would like any additional information.
